About Guadalajara

Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco, is the second-largest city in Mexico and a major economic and cultural hub. The city is renowned for its contributions to Mexican culture, particularly mariachi music and the global popularity of tequila, both of which originated in the region. Guadalajara is home to the Guadalajara International Book Fair, one of the most significant literary events in the Spanish-speaking world. The historic center boasts landmarks like the Guadalajara Cathedral, the Teatro Degollado, and the Instituto Cultural Cabañas, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city also plays host to numerous festivals, including the vibrant Fiestas de Octubre and the International Mariachi Festival.
